Before changing a conversation, decide whether you want to continue it, explore another outcome or begin again. Those goals call for different controls.

Find the original history first
Sign in using the method you used for the conversation and check the character name. An empty account on a new device can mean a different login, not a deleted history.
Do not use a new token purchase or recreated profile as a way to recover a missing thread.
Pick the control that matches the goal

Clarify before resetting
If a character loses a detail, restate that detail and keep the next message focused. Ask for a shorter reply or one question when the pacing is wrong.
A repeated loading problem is a different issue from story direction. Record the browser and error before discarding context that may still be useful.
Common questions
Can a cloned Candy AI chat recover a deleted thread?
No. A clone branches from history that still exists. It does not retrieve a conversation after permanent deletion.
Should I reset a conversation to solve an account login error?
No. Account recovery and conversation controls are separate. Recover the original login before changing the history attached to it.
